Contemporary Stage Foundation

Zawirowania Dance Theatre was founded in 2005. The artistic director and chief choreographer is Elwira Piorun, a former soloist at the Teatr Wielki, who spent several years performing in ballet and dance theaters in Germany. The company comprises dancers with diverse experience in bodywork techniques—from classical dance, through contemporary and jazz dance, to mime. The combination of the dancers’ diverse experiences creates an engaging stage effect, expanding the ensemble’s potential.

The characters in “In persuit of…” are young people stuck in a constant rush, not always knowing what they’re truly trying to catch up with. Their fates intertwine in a series of dynamic scenes, full of brilliant humor and bitter reflection. She and He young, full of dreams, convinced the world is their oyster. They believe that ambition are enough to achieve anything. But life quickly throws them challenges—the pursuit of success, stability, and the fulfillment of dreams begins to drift apart.
