WnM Dance Company

The dance group Woda na Młyn was formed in December 2013 on the initiative of dancers and instructors – former members of Warsaw’s university song and dance ensembles. Out of their love for folklore and a desire to continue their passions, they created an ensemble that fills not only the Warsaw but also the nationwide folk dance niche. Using and drawing on Polish and European folklore, Woda na Młyn creates compositions for contemporary folk and jazz music based on folk and traditional music.

    Performance synopsis

The LemCollage is our first major dance show, which premiered in January 2022. Over two years of pandemonium, choreography inspired by the folklore of the Lemkos and Slovak Ruthenians was created. We also made references to the figures of Andy Warhol and pop art, as well as to Pina Bausch’s Tanztheater Wuppertal performance ‘Kontakthof’, which is about relationships and human contact, the way one human being approaches another, the treatment of women by men, men by women.
