Performance synopsis

The performance was inspired by Jan Matejko's painting named ‘Stańczyk’. The painting depicts Stańczyk at the court of Queen Bona, after receiving information about the conquest of Smolensk, a part of his homeland. The choreography compares Stańczyk's duties towards the ladies of the court with his internal experiences.
