Anna Nowicka is a Polish choreographer working with dreams and embodied imagination. She graduated from SEAD in Salzburg, MA choreography at the Ernst-Busch Theater Academy / HZT in Berlin and MA psychology at the Warsaw University. She wrote her doctoral dissertation at PWSFTviT in Lodz on embodied attention as the foundation for stage presence. Anna's work is rooted in an ongoing studio practice that extends into performance and pedagogical practice.

Performance synopsis
This is the real thing is a performance where the body is at its centre. A single dancer creates and deconstructs her environment, playing in the landscape of visual meanings and possible references. The physical body functions as an infinite hypertext, referring the viewer to yet further associations. The dialogue between the real body and its visual representations raises the question of what the body actually is, how we perceive it and to what extent we can consciously construct it.
