Ania Gancarz

Anna Gancarz is a choreographer, dancer, and dance educator. She graduated from the Feliks Parnell Ballet School in Łódź, the University of Wrocław, and completed postgraduate studies in Dance Theory at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music in Warsaw. From 2005 to 2023, she was a ballet soloist with the Wrocław Opera. Since 2013, she has taught at the AST National Academy of Theatre Arts in Wrocław and, since 2025, at the Academy of Humanities and Economics in Łódź.

NAKBA is a choreographic performance directed by Anna Gancarz that explores war, forced displacement, and the experiences of children in the Gaza Strip. Through movement, music, and symbolic stage design, it portrays the escalating violence and its impact on human lives. In the final scene, the names and ages of children form a moving memorial, inviting reflection on memory, responsibility, and our shared humanity.
