Agata Życzkowska

The Theatre Development Foundation ‘NOWA FALA’ was established in 2009 in Warsaw by Agata Życzkowska — actress, director, choreographer, dance curator, and producer. The Foundation achieves its goals by producing and presenting HOTELOKO Company performances and organizing projects focused on contemporary dance and experimental choreography. It runs the annual U:NEW Dance Wave Festival and supports dance artists, especially emerging ones.

Performance synopsis

“LUXA” is a performance by Agata Życzkowska about luxury in social, physical, and philosophical contexts. It begins with luxury items for women but also explores intangible values like freedom, knowledge, and authenticity. Luxury can be jade, cocoa, or the ability to be oneself. Created with a 2023 City of Warsaw art grant, the piece was selected for the Polish Dance Platform 2024.
