Małgorzata Gietler

Małgorzata Gietler is a choreographer, dance educator, cultural organizer, and lecturer at the Institute of Choreography and Dance Techniques at the Academy of Music in Łódź. She is the founder of the Step Dance Theatre and organizer of the “Wrocławskie Kompozycje Taneczne” festival. For over 35 years, she has been implementing artistic and educational projects combining contemporary dance, dance theater, somatic movement, improvisation, and social and inclusive activities.

Inspired by the Lower Silesian themes of Ślęża and the Slavic Mokosz, this dance ritual explores the tension between lack and trust, between “mine” and “common.” What happens between people is like a thread that is invisible, yet it tightens and soothes. Here, mindfulness becomes a light beneath the eyelids.
