Performance synopsis

“Imitation Imperative” is an interdisciplinary work situated between performance, installation, and dance. Developed since 2020, it explores imitation as a force for reimagining post-Soviet identities through hybrid social gatherings curated locally for each presentation. Jaunzema and Sado combine uncanny imagery, embodied sensations, and intuitive processes to create shifting symbolic systems and fluid Eastern European narratives, reflecting on displacement, art production.
